Employment Centre Provides Jobs for 671 Persons

Luanda, Jan 07, 2004 (Angola Press Agency/All Africa Global Media via COMTEX) -- At least 671 unemployed persons were provided with jobs in 2003, through the Luanda Kilamba-Kiaxi district employment centre, said today the general director, Jose Francisco.

That figure represents an increase by 644 as compared with the year 2002, when only 27 of the 864 registered candidates got jobs, the source added.

Last year, 947 job seekers registered with the centre, having most of them obtained job with various civil construction Companies in Kilamba-Kiaxi and other neighbouring districts, Jose Francisco also told Angop.

Meanwhile, under the employment centre is the training centre that trained 107 professionals in the fields of plumbing and electricity, in figures considered as the highest since it was set up in 1998.
